Message from President Josephine Libassi
I hope this email finds you all enjoying your well deserved time off. As always, I am extremely impressed and humbled by the tremendous work that you do every day. I am very excited to announce that MITA has decided to invest in our union's communications. We have a series of new communication tools planned. The first is this email we are calling MITA Memo - The official email for the hardworking members of the Middle Island Teachers` Association.
We will be sending this email to the membership on a regular basis with upcoming events, reports on charity work, political action, bargaining updates and reminders of upcoming meetings and social outings. We have retained UCOMM Media Group to assist us in this endeavor. UCOMM works with 30+ other local unions and labor councils in the Northeast including Levittown United Teachers, Plainedge Teachers Association, Suffolk County Court Employees Association, and Long Island Teachers to name a few. Working with our leadership team, UCOMM is building a new mobile-friendly website with photo and video galleries, social network sharing options, news feeds and event listings. We are also developing a shortcut-like mobile app so you can stay connected with your union when on the go.
