Good afternoon Everyone! I hope you are all well, staying safe, and staying home!
Later this week, beginning on Thurs. April 9th and running through the end of next week to April 17th, we will be working on what we are calling a relaxed schedule. More details are coming out on Wednesday from our building principals, however I wanted to take a quick minute to address what the expectations are.
Simply put, Dr. Lonergan is anticipating a week where no new work is assigned, allowing students the opportunity to regroup/ review and catch up on anything they may still be working on. Dr. Columbia will be providing some Wellness Activities for students, and Administration will be continuing their efforts to reach out to students who have not yet logged in to our Google Classrooms.
We will resume on Monday April 20th, with the same kinds of instruction that we have been doing throughout since March 17th. The requirement of checking in twice a day is also relaxed; communication with our students should continue as necessary, if they have questions throughout this time.
Gov. Cuomo has closed NY schools through April 28th. We are also awaiting more guidance from New York State about grading, and the cancellation of the Regents Exams and what that means for our high school students.
I'm thinking about all of you, and hoping everyone is staying safe and well. The magnitude of the situation is understandably overwhelming. If you need anything please reach out. While the MITA office is closed, all MITA officers are available to you... Just email us, we will respond to you.
