While NYSUT is happy that NYS state scores have been decoupled from teachers' APPR evaluations, there remains work to be done. NYSUT is demanding that the state take action to fix flawed and invalid tests that are harmful to students. In order to raise awareness, NYSUT has launched a campaign called "Correct the Tests." This campaign will hopefully bring awareness to parents and educators of the issues with New York State's grade 3-8 ELA and math tests.

MITA has also teamed up with MCTA to hire the Opt-Out Billboard Truck this year! You might see it around your school buildings especially at arrival and dismissal times, off school property of course, and also in local shopping centers. - MITA 2nd Vice President Terry D'Andrea
